So, today was SUPPOSED to be the day at the doctors...
J was to have his one month well baby visit this morning. At 7:30 am, as I was packing up the diaper bag and had everything situated to feed the gator....
J is often referred to as "the gator" because when he is really hungry or angry, he shakes his head side to side and snaps on to the bottle or pacifier...kinda cute...
Anyway, here I was...exhausted (long, fussy weekend), but dressed (in my prepregnancy jeans - with a shirt tucked in...and a belt! Looking pretty cute!) ready to go for the day, when the pedi's office calls! Uh oh! The doc is sick! Granted, I don't want anyone's cooties on my cutie, but I REALLY needed to see the doctor!
Our little man has a bit of a tummy problem, and we are trying to figure it out! His highly educated, but often not too smart parents have screwed him up by playing a little formula game. We have determined that he has some kind of intolerance to anything milk based, but we are now trying to figure out if soy will do the trick or if he is high maitenance and requires the expensive hypoallergenic stuff. My money is on the liquid gold!
Because M and I are old pros at the reflux game (those of you who remember when
A was an infant, and earned the title "Puking Princess," will recall that she had a pediatric GI specialist at 9 weeks because of erosion of the esophogus!) we are 100% sure J has the GERD too! He isn't much of a spitter, but our poor guy is SUPER uncomfortable at times!
So, I NEED to see the pediatrician - I go back to work on Monday! We have an appointment on Friday, but I may call and say that we have a sick baby and try to get in earlier! I will be calling Dr. Scott in Grapevine tomorrow! Yes, he still takes my calls! He and I have been chatting lately about formula...I seriously may ask him for some Prevacid!
So, I met mom (and dad) for lunch after her doctor appointment, and did a little looking at Chico's.
Then, at 1:30, I went to see Dr. Haufrect for my 6 week appointment! All the nurses just loved J, and Dr. Haufrect isn't holding a grudge about us waking him up in the wee hours of the morning! If he had, I would have mentioned that I asked to be induced earlier!
Bad news...my hand is still numb! Dr. Haufrect said I need to see an orthopedist and gave me the name of the guy he recommends! BUT...our blasted insurance is going to make me go to my primary care first to get a referral. Guys...we just moved....I don't HAVE a PCP! Seriously! I did ask what they might do for my CTS, and all Dr. H would say was...maybe medicine...maybe a procedure! Really?
Thus ends, what was supposed to be the "day at the doctors."

Hi! I am visiting via Impulsive Addicts page and decided to leave ya a comment!
Congrats on the new little man. Hopefully things can get figured out for that little tummy. It's a tough time for ALL when things aren't going smoothly and it's always so difficult to figure out.
Have a great day back at work. I'll be checkin back to see how things are going!
Great blog!
Pre-prego jeans? Wow! How'd you do that so quickly?? I'm pretty sure you should still be wearing prego clothes after only 6 weeks!! Thanks for my birfday wishes! =) And I'm so glad I could be your first follower! I see Annie found your place too! She writes some pretty funny blogs too!
We had to put Brady on the liquid gold!! It was expensive....but it helped him alot. He had bad tummy problems, the doc said probably colic...we also used the gas medicine....you know our Blackburn men!!! ha ha
