We Will Have House...Eventually
We have decided to build a house. We found a house we loved. It was ready to move in...beautiful colors, great floorplan, tons of "upgrades." We made an offer, and were told there had already been an offer accepted. Four days later, the new owners were moving in. Needless to say, that house should never have been shown (our agent was fired up). We spent another full day looking at houses and several more looking at new construction. We kept thinking about that first house! Luckily, that house is still being built in the neighborhood. So, we have signed a build contract for that same floor plan - 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath with a game room upstairs. We have already picked out all of our stuff - like flooring, fixtures, paint color etc. There is no neighborhood pool, so we are debating having a pool put in right after we close. The street leading into the neighborhood is lined with huge trees and Clear Creek runs along one side of the subdivision. You don't look out and see a "sea of houses." We loved the "feel" of the area. It is 4 miles from my school and 6 miles from Micky's office. Micky won't admit it, but I know he is super pumped that Grissom Road (named after Gus Grissom) is the main road through the subdivision! We are super excited and can't wait for them to get started! Sadly, the house will not be finished before the baby comes, so we will have to squeeze baby stuff into the rent house, but we can do it..for a little while! Micky, Ava and I will have a 45 minute commute until we move, and that will stink (luckily, if I get to a point that I am not comfortable driving alone, we can carpool)...but...we will manage, and Gran has already said she will help, occasionally having dinner ready for us! We will miss being so close to Gran and Grandpa. But, 40 minutes is alot closer than 5 hours! (We will be 40 minutes from Gran and Grandpa and 20 minutes from Tracey and Jarrett!) We will update the blog on the build progress!
